Davey and Company exhibited at the Beale Park Boat Show in June as usual and enjoyed wonderful weather in a superb setting. There were, as always, a varied array of lovely traditional boats on display, many of them with our equipment fitted. The pictures show part of the Davey stand and one with a lovely boat in the foreground and our display tent behind.
To improve the stability of the half band & spike (3402), we have modified the pattern of the half band to include a support arm under the knuckle joint with a third screw hole. This triangulation of fastening allows for a much firmer attachment to the mast and should eliminate the rocking that could sometimes occur. This improvement applies to the 3" and 3.1/2" bronze units so far, and will eventually be rolled out to the other sizes and types.
Following the successful launch of our ash blocks, we have now added stand-up and swivel blocks to the range. This attractive, strong and practical range has found favour all over the world and the new additions will fill some of the initial gaps. On request, we are also able to supply most of this range with bronze sheaves rather than the standard tufnol ones. See page 35 for details.
